About Snowplango

The company behind the app

Our company

Snowplango is a product of Carve Lab LLC, a California limited liability company founded in 2026. We build software for skiers and snowboarders who care deeply about conditions — people who plan trips around weather windows and want to know whether a given day will actually be worth the drive.

What we do

Snowplango is an AI-powered ski forecast app for iOS and Android. We score every day at 813 North American ski resorts across four skiing styles — powder, carving, groomer, and park — so you can match the mountain to your style and find the best day of the week. Our forecasts combine Open-Meteo and NWS weather models, OpenSkiMap terrain data, and live resort conditions, all run through scoring models tuned to how each style of skier actually experiences a mountain.

We also help plan multi-day trips. Pick a date range, add resorts you're considering, and Snowplango surfaces the best day at each one along with packing recommendations, storm alerts, and an AI-generated trip brief.

Why we built it

Generic weather apps tell you it will snow. Resort websites tell you the lifts are open. Neither tells you whether today is a good day for the kind of skiing you do. A powder skier and a carver looking at the same forecast want very different things — fresh snow vs. firm groomers — and the difference between a great day and a wasted drive often comes down to small details a generic forecast misses. We built Snowplango to make those details visible.

How we work

Carve Lab LLC is a small, independent software company. We don't sell user data, we don't run ads, and we don't have investors steering the roadmap. The free tier covers the forecasts that most skiers need; Snowplango Pro adds trip planning, powder alerts, and deeper history for $4.99/month or $29.99/year. Pricing details and what's included in each tier are on the How It Works page.
