Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using the Snowplango mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Snowplango provides AI-powered ski resort forecasts, personalized condition scoring, trip planning tools, and powder alert notifications. The App is intended for recreational informational purposes only. Forecast and condition data is provided by third-party sources (Open-Meteo, NWS, OpenSkiMap) and may not always be accurate or current.

Not safety advice. Do not rely on Snowplango for avalanche safety, backcountry navigation, or any decision where inaccurate information could cause injury or harm. Always check official resort and avalanche center advisories before skiing.

3. Accounts

You must create an account to use the App. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. By creating an account you represent that you meet this age requirement.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

Snowplango offers a free tier and an optional Pro subscription. Pro subscriptions are billed annually and managed through Apple App Store or Google Play. All billing, cancellation, and refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective policies.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings.

Prices are in USD and subject to change with notice. We do not process payments directly — all transactions occur through Apple or Google.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the App
  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service or its infrastructure
  • Scrape, harvest, or systematically download data from the App
  • Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the service

6. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality in the App — including text, graphics, logos, and software — are owned by Snowplango or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

Resort data is sourced from OpenSkiMap contributors under the Open Database License (ODbL). Weather data is provided by Open-Meteo.com under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0).

7. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that forecast data will be accurate.

We are not responsible for decisions you make based on information provided by the App. Ski resort conditions, trail openings, and weather can change rapidly and without notice.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Snowplango shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the App. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct we determine is harmful to the service or other users. You may delete your account at any time from within the App or by contacting us.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of San Francisco County, California.
